Dear ISMB-98 Author:
Congratulations! The program
committee has informed me that your paper has been selected for
publication in the Proceedings of the Sixth International Conference
on Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology. As an accepted author,
please follow these instructions:
The deadline for receipt of your completed camera-ready copy, copyright form, and electronic abstract is March 24th 1998. To avoid disappointment, submit these materials by the deadline. The deadline date is real, and has been calculated to ensure that books will be produced in time for ISMB-98. Consequently, we have to be quite strict about them. (Extensions aren't possible.) If we don't have them in our hands by March 24th 1998, your paper will NOT be published.
You will be allowed 10 pages in the Proceedings for your entire paper (including title, references, notes, illustrations, and so forth). No author will be allowed more than this number of pages. If you exceed this limit, we will regrettably be forced to return the paper to you.
Your paper must be laser printed (or image set) single sided, on 8-1/2 x 11 inch paper (Authors outside North America may use A4 paper). It must be formatted in two columns, and it must have the following exact margins (white space):
To help you with the formatting task, we've created some new templates for Macintosh and Windows that we strongly recommend you download and use. Directions for obtaining these templates are included in the "Instructions for Authors." Most of the problems we've encountered with improperly formatted camera copy have arisen because of altered macros or templates.
On AAAI's web site you should also find a model page with printed guidelines. Download this form, print it, and hold your completed camera copy output up to this page with a light source behind it. The text and illustrations on your camera copy must fit inside the guidelines printed on the model page . (It's OK if the text or illustration touches the lines, but if it extends beyond them you'll have to reformat your camera copy.)
Authors outside North America should print their camera copy on 8-1/2 x 11 inch paper if at all possible. If you cannot find that size, please trim A4 paper so that it is no longer than 11 inches, and adhere to the left and top margins and bottom margins we noted above. (The right margin will be narrower.) Do not center your paper on A4!
Once you've completed your camera copy, you must (in pencil, please) print your name, e-mail, telephone number and page number on the back of your camera copy.
You must submit an electronic version of your abstract. The electronic form for submitting the abstract can be located on AAAI's web site. If necessary, you can also e-mail us the abstract. Please e-mail it to ismb98@aaai.org. The subject line read ISMB-98 abstract. We also request that you send us a high-resolution PDF or PostScript version of your paper. Please name your file with your last name (or surname), along with the extension: -ismb98.ps or -ismb98.pdf (depending on whether it is PostScript or PDF). (For example, Hamilton-ismb.98.pdf). You may e-mail the PDF or PostScript file to us at ismb98@aaai.org, or include the file on a Macintosh or Windows-formatted disk with your camera-ready copy. This file is in addition to the camera-ready copy that you send us. Directions for creating and submitting the PostScript file are included in the "Instructions for Authors."
You must complete, sign, and return an unaltered copyright form with your camera copy. We cannot publish your paper without this legal document.
You should send your completed paper and copyright form in a stiff
mailer or courier envelope (include cardboard or some other suitable
stiffener to prevent the camera copy from getting bent). Be sure to mark
your package "Do Not Bend Or Fold" and send it to:
Thank you for reading these materials carefully. If you have questions about this material after reading it, please send e-mail to press@aaai.org.
